Basic Info
Name:Moe Sagakure - Portfolio
Website:「双児宮 ☆ Gemini House」
Bio

Hello and welcome to this page.
This is the online portfolio for Moe Sagakure.
I'm an illustrator and graphic artist, as well as moe artist (1) and doujinshi author (2).

Due to my nature as a doujin artist, the majority of my illustrations here are fanart from Saint Seiya and a variety of series, but I can of course do original art just as easily.
It's just that since I fairly often draw for my site or for doujin (online or printed) etc., I tend to have a large amount of fanarts that end up in my portfolio.

If you need to contact me for whatever reason, be it professional
or just because you like my art, feel free to use this mail form:

If it malfunctions, please use this address: sagakure☆yahoo.co.jp (replacing the "☆" with a "@").

You can find in this portfolio a select amount of my art, displayed for various purposes.

The main one is that my site is the place where I put really everything I create, including doodles and weird stuff done for fun, so there's way too many contents and it's harder to find things around.
A portfolio is by definition a smaller, more select amount of art, and it's much easier to browse.
I chose to have it online to make it more easily accessible overseas, as well as making it easier to search thanks to the tags/keywords system.
Another reason is the fact that my site is in japanese, which makes browsing harder for non-japanese speaking people. I needed a simpler-to-access page, and thus created this portfolio.

Lastly, the system of tags here allows you to find a category of pictures much more easily than you can on my website, making it easier for people who need to browse through my gallery fast, or who want to get an idea of the art quickly.

Unless otherwise specified, all artwork on this site is drawn by me.

If you have already browsed all the contents here, and still want to see more of my art,
you're of course welcome to also visit my website:

It's my Saint Seiya fan site. The contents are mostly fanarts, and some writings.
It's in Japanese, but visitors from all countries are welcome. ^_^

Glossary of more or less technical terms:

1) Moe artists: "Moe" is a normal word and also a first name (as in "Moe Sagakure", my pen name), but in "moe artist", it refers to the cultural phenomenon that has appeared in Japan in this generation.
"Moe" was originally a slang term created by otaku, but with the recent years it gained more and more importance, until becoming a word widely used in the manga industry in Japan nowadays.
Moe art is often mistaken for bishoujo art, but unlike bishoujo (meaning "pretty girl), moe art can also cover yaoi, depending on the artists.
Examples of artists doing moe art are Itou Noiji, from popular series "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", and POP & Project Moetan from Animage's "Moetan", among many other artists. Digi Charat is also a moe-related series.

Naturally, moe art isn't all of my art, but just a part of it.

2) Doujinshi: Amateur comics. They can be fan comics, parody of existing series, or completely original material.
If you want to know more about it, here's a link to the wikipedia article.

FAQ:

1) Unless otherwise specified, all artwork on this site is drawn by me.

DO NOT alter, edit, turn into an icon/layout, trace, claim, or redistribute any image found here or on my site/gallery/diary/etc.

2) I don't take free requests.
Unless I say that I'm offering some, and it will probably only happen if we're close friends and/or I know you well.

3) I take commissions from time to time. If you are interested, keep an eye on my dA Gallery for posts about commission openings.
It is probably quite obvious, but the prices will differ a lot whether you are an individual just commissioning me because you like my art, or whether you are a company, hiring me for illustrations or for any kind of graphic project.
I may draw pics for cheaper for people I know online and who like my art, but commercially used images are always much more expensive than pics in lower resolution to display on personal websites.
All illustrators and graphic designers of the whole world work that way.

4) If you are interested in my art, my writings, or anything produced by me, do contact me.
I'll be flattered to know you like what I do. If you don't contact me and just grab whatever and re-use, I'll not only not be flattered at all, but I'll be also quite sad/shocked, not to mention very angry. I utterly loathe art thieves and plagiarizers.
